Today is a great day. Do you know why? Today is Winter Solstice. For those of you who don’t know, today is the first day of winter which means it only gets better from here. Starting today, the amount of daylight slowly starts to get longer again (yasss!!!). Culturally, the solstices are used to denote either the beginnings of the seasons or the center points of the seasons. The winter solstice is the perfect start to your new year. It’s the perfect day to go within, meditate, and reflect on where you’ve been and what fires you want to light in the coming year. This also means it’s time to let go of the things that no longer serve you…what can you let burn and dissolve? Think about your goals for next season? What do you want to create in 2017? How can you be a better version of you? These are all great things to think about and things that I’ll be observing and writing down over these next couple of days.
If you free tonight, I encourage you all to attend this event with Arrow Yoga. You’ll begin the evening with 108 sun salutations, make your own intention box and mingle while munching on vegan and plant based holiday cookies as well as a spiked hot chocolate.
Sign up here. Tickets are $45. I hope to see some of you there.
Esther Collinetti, owner of REV, has inspired me to choose a word, one word that I need more of in my life. The goal is for the next year is to simply focus and commit to that word. It should identify the kind of person that you want to become as you enter into a new year and start a brand new chapter. It may take some time to come up with that word, but find a word that means something to YOU.
CONFIDENCE / LOVE / STRENGTH / COURAGE / PURPOSE / ENOUGH / PATIENCE / PEACE / WORTH / TENACITY / BELIEVE / INTENTIONAL / BALANCE / JOY / FOCUS / TRUST / HOPE / GRATITUDE / HEALTHY / SIMPLIFY / POSITIVE / CHANGE / FEARLESS / CONTENTMENT / BRAVE / PRESENT
I’m not ready to share a word with you just yet, but keep an eye out for a future post on what it is and why I chose it.
How will you make 2017 your best year yet?
